Akron Zoo
When you think about Akron, Ohio attractions, be sure to add the Akron Zoo to the list! The Akron Zoo started in the 1900s when the area was gifted to the city. It opened with just two animals and two brown bears, before developing into the well loved facility that it is today. Just 30 short minutes from our Camp-Resort, the zoo sits on 77 acres of land, and 35 acres of this is covered in exhibits that will thrill any guests who love animals. Akron Children's Museum
Schedule a trip to the Akron Children's Museum. This attraction is less than 30 minutes away from our Camp-Resort and is perhaps the most unique way to spend the day. With hands-on experiments available daily, children and adults alike will find themselves smiling and laughing as they learn! Rates are as low as $5/adult and $5/child. Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens
When you're looking for things to do in Akron, make sure the Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens are on your list! Completed in 1915, Stan Hywet Hall was built for the family of the co-founder of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The estate includes 65 rooms and historic gardens and grounds. The hall and gardens are open for tours on Tuesday-Sunday from April to December. With 7 different tour options, you can find the tour that fits your needs! Save some money with some free things to do in Akron! Located just 30 minutes from our Camp-Resort, in the heart of Downtown Akron, Lock 3 Park hosts free events year-round! Enjoy a full schedule of free concerts of every genre, family and children events, auto showcases, and more. Be sure to check out Homegrown Saturday Mornings from July through September! This event includes locally grown produce for purchase along with a bunch of free activities, including an educational program for children, tours of downtown historic sites, trolley rides, and family activities and games! Canal Park and the Akron Rubberducks
